Getting an account

Requesting an account

To ask for an account on the cluster, send a message to Helpdesk.

In the request, please provide the following information:

• Your name
• Your desired username (typically your clip login)
• A very brief explanation of how you intend to use the cluster
• Your position in the department (MSc student, PhD student, post-doc, faculty, etc)
• If you are a student, the professor responsible for your usage (typically your advisor)
• An estimation on how long you will need to use the cluster

Managing your account

Changing your password

To change your password, log into the cluster and use the command passwd. The command will prompt you for:

• (current) LDAP Password:
• New password:
• Retype new password:

The LDAP password is your current password.

Additionally, you should consider setting up Public Key authentication.
